Requirement
The Volunteer Development Agency were interested in a memorable non-geographic number as a main contact number and a customised intelligent voice routing system that automatically diverted calls to specific volunteer centres based on the STD code of the callers. Each volunteer centre needed their own voicemail to email system, out of hours settings and the ability to have independent bank holiday settings all controlled centrally.
Solution
Using our extensive experience in designing and building back-end telecoms systems the Switchconnect team were able to work closely with the Volunteer Development Agency to produce an application that facilitated call flow through their main contact number to the appropriate volunteer centre saving time and money and enabling centralised control.
The Volunteer Development Agency chose a memorable 0845 number which is classified as basic rate because it is cheap to call and there are no costs for diversions to any UK or Northern Ireland landlines. They chose a number that is relevant to those they help and fits in with their marketing.
