It is advisable that notices are made to your customers about the rates, while also noting that this is not a premium rate number, it is a higher priced number to call. 0871 numbers cost up to 10p per minute to call from most landlines and the cost to call a 0871 number from a mobile will be higher.

Most of our customers use 0871 numbers for technical support lines, where the revenue from the line partly offsets the cost of providing the support service, or lines that they want to mildly discourage casual callers from using, to free call handler time for important calls from committed customers. Revenue share of up to 4.5p – 5p per minute are available on 0871 numbers and this is paid to you on a monthly basis (minimum call revenue of £20 per month applies). 0871 numbers are usually free to run on a monthly basis and only incur a one off set up fee if you choose a gold or platinum number.
